ANNUAL SEED AND NATIVE PLANT DRIVE BEGINS OCT 22nd

From your Garden TO Arleta’s

Now is the perfect time to harvest seeds from your garden or clear out your old seed collections. Simply collect your dry seeds in an envelope, label them and drop them off in the Cafeteria starting OCT 22nd. Don’t have a garden but want to get involved? Ask your neighbors with gardens to donate seeds or pick up a pack at the grocery store.

Now is also the time to plant Native Trees, shrubs and perennials. Bring a native or Edible plant from one of your neighborhood nurseries to add to the collection. Here are some suggestions:

  • Salmonberry
  • Huckleberry
  • Prickly Current
  • Northern Black Current
  • Salal
  • Blackcap or Oregon Raspberry
  • Oregon Grape
  • Rose (Woods, Prickly wild)
  • Tiger Lilly
  • Ostrich Fern

Drop off plants and seeds in the Cafeteria before school from 7:45am until 8:05 am. Don’t forget to label your seeds!
